Payment Methods
Why did I receive an invoice, I just started delivery, and have prepaid for my subscription by Credit Card?
The invoice is printed in advance of the charge to your credit card. This invoice contains information that you may need in the future. Going forward, you will not receive an invoice if you continue to pay by credit card.
Can I pay for home delivery with my credit card?
You can charge your subscription on your Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover card. Simply enter your credit card information on our secure order form on your bill.
Can I make a one-time credit or debit card payment in advance?
Yes, you may prepay for your subscription for any length of time. To make a credit or debit card payment, you may contact us at 1-888 MY GLOBE or e-mail us at circulation@globe.com. Be sure to include your name, delivery address, and home phone number, and indicate the words CREDIT CARD PAYMENT in the subject line.
I received some pay in advance options on my invoice. What is the best deal for me?
By paying in advance on a 52-week term, you will save up to 15% on your home delivery subscription. This special longer-term rate is our way of saying thank you to our loyal customers, and cannot be combined with any other special discounts or reduced rates.
Billing Activity
How has The Boston Globe home delivery pricing changed?

Why do I have new charges already? I just made a payment.
The Boston Globe bills 4 weeks in advance, so if you recently made a payment for papers received, it is normal for you to be receiving an invoice for papers not yet received for the next 4 weeks.
I think you double-billed me. I already received a bill this month.
Since the Globe bills every 4 weeks, and not monthly, there are actually 13 billing cycles in a year, not twelve. Therefore, there may be months where you receive multiple bills.
I noticed on my invoice that my monthly charge has increased from last month, what's wrong?
In the billing activity section (located in the middle portion of your invoice) you will see any changes to your subscription, listed with the effective date. This would be due to a change in number of delivery days each week or an increase in your subscription rate.
Why do I have a balance brought forward on my bill?
The balance brought forward reflects papers received prior to the billing date, but not yet paid for. This often occurs with a new subscription when papers are delivered prior to generating your bill or when your payment is recorded AFTER the date you have paid through. This does not mean you failed to pay a bill or that we are charging a late fee. Although we prefer you pay the total amount on your bill, we ask that you pay the new charges amount listed in the Account Summary.
I was on vacation last month and I don't see my credit.
Credit for the days you were stopped for vacation will be applied immediately, and will extend the paid-through date on your account. You will see the dates you stopped your paper outlined in the billing activity section of your invoice.
I don't see a credit for my two missed papers from last month, what happened?
With our billing system, all service issues (missed delivery, late delivery, etc) are reflected by an extension of your subscription, equal to the dollar value of your credit. You will find this information in the billing activity section of your invoice.
I used to receive only the Sunday paper but now get the paper delivered every day, where do I see this on my bill?
In the billing activity section of your invoice you will see any changes to your subscription, listed with the effective date. The subscription type in the upper left of your invoice will also reflect any subscription change.
I noticed on my invoice a notation (Billing Adjustment or Payment Applied in Error or Adjustment Error), I don't understand, can you explain this?
Any monetary adjustments to your account will be reflected in the billing activity section of your invoice. These adjustments will be reflected as a dollar amount.
Newspaper in Education
I donated to the NIE program last month but where is it on my bill?
Thank you for your donation. Whenever you donate to the NIE program, the donation will be noted on your invoice in the billing activity section, listed as "NIE Vacation Donation."
I currently donate to the NIE program automatically each month when I pay my bill, but I don't see that listed anywhere on my invoice.
Thank you for your support of the NIE program. Whenever you donate automatically, the following month your donation will be noted on your invoice in the billing activity section, listed as "NIE Vacation Donation."
I'd like to donate to the NIE program on a regular basis, how can I do so?
In the lower, right hand corner of the invoice you will see a box where you can add a donation to the NIE program each time you make a payment. We thank you for your support of the program.
Tipping Your Carrier
I'd like to tip my carrier on a regular basis, how can I do so?
In the lower right-hand section of your invoice you will find a box where you can add a tip that will go to your newspaper carrier, each time you make a payment. We thank you for your recognition and support of your carrier.
I noticed on the back of my invoice that you charge my carrier if I choose to tip when I make a payment, I don't agree with that.
We've included this option for gratuity as a convenience for both our subscribers and the newspaper delivery person. Because of the costs associated with bank processing of the tips, a servicing fee is necessary.
