Solomon is the managing editor for the Boston Globe. Prior to this position he was editor of the Globe's business section. Before joining the Globe, Solomon worked for The Wall Street Journal Europe for almost two years. He became assistant managing editor there in November 2001 and oversaw features and daily news. Prior to that, he oversaw a section devoted to technology, media, marketing and management. From 1997 to 2000, he worked for The Wall Street Journal/New England and directed major stories involving the Big Dig, health care, the convention center, state finances and the nexus of business and politics in New England. Prior to that, he headed the Journal's regional section in Texas and was a Journal reporter in Houston for eight years, concentrating on the oil industry. Solomon graduated from Columbia College with a bachelor's in English. He also has a master's from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism.
