Contributing columnist, Robin Abrahams, writes the “Miss Conduct” column, covering etiquette and manners, for the Boston Globe Magazine. She also conducts an online chat at Boston.com from noon to 1:00 p.m. ET on the first and third Wednesdays of each month. She has previously worked as a theater publicist, organizational-change communications manager, editor, stand-up comedian, and professor of psychology and English. She has a Ph.D. in psychology from Boston University and a B.A. in theater studies from the University of Kansas. For Abrahams, writing the “Miss Conduct” column is the fulfillment of a lifetime dream—getting paid to tell people what to do. As a child she always identified with the character of Lucy in the “Peanuts” comic strip, and was bitterly disappointed when her parents forced her to have a conventional lemonade stand rather than a booth for dispensing “psychiatric advice” at five cents per problem. |
