Hingham’s Shore Conservatory is a hotbed for the arts

With fresh approach, school reverses drop in enrollment

While many arts institutions are struggling in the weak economy, enrollment has grown to about 2,700 students at the South Shore Conservatory’s main campus in Hingham and satellite site in Duxbury. Officials say it’s the result of the “continuum’’ model, which offers interconnected clusters of programs geared to specific age groups. The result is a cohesive learning track that enables students to take classes or join groups regardless of their age or skill level.
