Conroy drops out of Senate race

Cites struggles to raise funding, will wait to decide on endorsement

State Representative Thomas P. Conroy is set to announce today that he is dropping out of the US Senate race, citing the name recognition and fund-raising prowess of consumer advocate Elizabeth Warren. Conroy, a three-term representative from Wayland, said in an interview that the Warren factor became more apparent after “the other strong candidates dropped out of this race, specifically [Newton mayor] Setti Warren, Bob Massie, and Alan Khazei.’’
