Harvard makes foray into start-up scene with i-lab

Today Harvard University will open its innovation lab, an incubator for start-ups intended to infuse the freewheeling ethos of Silicon Valley into America’s oldest college. The lab, housed in the former WGBH building, will serve as a midwife to students and local residents developing small businesses. It is Harvard’s first building to open in Allston, the site of the biggest expansion in the school’s history.
