‘The Complete Columbia Studio Albums Collection 1955-1966’

The period spanning 1955 to 1966 was the heyday of pianist Dave Brubeck’s quartet. Its best-known lineup - with alto saxophonist Paul Desmond, bassist Eugene Wright, and drummer Joe Morello - was set in 1958, but even earlier, when Bob Bates filled the bass chair and Joe Dodge played drums, Brubeck and Desmond had established the band’s personality and ethos.
