STAGE REVIEW

‘Three Viewings’ is compelling

Joel Colodner, Christine Power, and Adrianne Krstansky deliver character portraiture at its most detailed, nuanced, and assured in a compelling New Repertory Theatre production of Jeffrey Hatcher’s “Three Viewings.’’ Under the direction of Jim Petosa, the performances by these exemplary actors cut deep, at times rescuing the play from the playwright, who has a habit of veering headlong toward sentimentality or melodramatics at key moments. But Hatcher also has the compensating gifts of wit and the ability to fashion twisty, cunning narratives.
