THE BOSTON GLOBE TO SPONSOR MSPCA-ANGELL PET BOOK COVER PROGRAM
Boston, MA, 2007-08-17 -
On August 19th The Boston Globe will insert a book cover for students in every edition of the Sunday Globe. The book cover features photos provided by The Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA)-Angell of pets available for adoption.
The Pet Book cover program was created in conjunction with the MSPCA-Angell to raise awareness of the thousands of Massachusetts animals without permanent homes and to further spread the MSPCA-Angell message denouncing cruelty towards animals. The program aims to find families for these homeless animals, as well as the many others not featured on the book cover. More than 250,000 homeless, abused and injured animals pass through MSPCA-Angell care each year.
“Our hope is that The Boston Globe's book cover promotion will serve as a voice for the thousands of wonderful animals in search of their 'forever homes,' compelling people to not only visit one of our seven Animal Care and Adoption Centers, but to make an animal part of their family," said MSPCA-Angell CEO, Carter Luke. "Through this promotion, we are one step closer to realizing our goal of a home for every animal.”
The promotion also includes advertisements and radio spots focusing on the MSPCA-Angell and Pet Book cover program leading up to the August 19th release of the book cover. Starting in late July five advertisements, including one focusing almost exclusively on the MSPCA-Angell, will run in the Globe, along with teaser ads mentioning the organization. Radio spots will air in the upcoming weeks preceding the release. The MSPCA-Angell logo will appear on all rack cards as well.
The book cover will feature photographs of the animals available for adoption. An information bank on the left hand side of the cover will include instructions for adoption and the mission statement of the MSPCA-Angell. The promotional ads will feature individual photographs of selected animals from the book cover, along with a brief paragraph promoting the book cover event and encouraging adoption.
For further information on adopting an animal, please contact the nearest branch of the MSPCA-Angell or visit www.mspca.org.
