Photo Department

Position Scope/Definition:

 

Support photographers, photo editors, and the photo needs of various editorial departments.

Key Duties:

 
  • Download all incoming emailed photos to Photo Desk and AOL accounts; process images and attach caption and credit data to each image; add to Merlin database
  • Distribute courtesy photos to media outlets
  • Research photos for various sections; retrieve photos from wire agencies, national picture desk, stock photo agencies, and Globe and NYT archives
  • Manage the office, including answering phones, distributing mail/packages, collecting and filing daily Globes for annual contests
  • Additional tasks as directed by supervisor, editors, photographers

Experience/knowledge/
skill/technical expertise required:

 

Interest in photography. Proficient in Adobe PhotoShop, Internet research.
